10 Sep All students entering a scheduled program of study which requires math or English courses must meet placement requirements for these courses.
Placement Tests
Placement might be decided by twelfth grade transcripts and GPA, SAT and/or ACT scores, and GED scores; all of which are valid for five years. Additionally, students who will be enrolled at another advanced schooling institution or college that is four-year submit their college transcripts for placement determination. Students that do not satisfy the placement requirements based on these multiple measures must take the Virginia Placement Test (VPT).
Students must submit their applications for admission to New River before you take the placement tests. Placement testing needs to be completed prior to meeting with an academic adviser to establish a training course schedule.
Students can retake the placement test one time within 12 months of this attempt that is initial of VPT. Placement test scores are valid for 5 years.
Exemptions for Placement Testing
New students are exempt from taking the placement tests when they have received appropriate scores within the past five years on a single or a mixture of the assessments that are following. (The scores shown would be the minimum needed for exemption.)
